Foundations in Construction and Technology

After graduating high school, Jay earned an Associate’s Degree in Electronics Engineering from ITT Tech. He began his career installing low-voltage systems—data wiring, fiber optics, CCTV, Security, Entertainment, and POS networks—in both residential and commercial settings.

That technical foundation led him into Solar-Water-Heater installations, where he mastered every roofing substrate from flat modified bitumen to steep asphalt shingles, clay, concrete tile, and metal. A stint as a commercial-electrician apprentice gave him cross-trade insight—plumbing, drywall, painting, HVAC—so he could evaluate any building system with confidence.

Transition to Insurance Adjusting

In 2012, Jay leveraged his construction background to obtain his insurance-adjuster license. He started as a trainee on a rope-and-harness team, scaling high and steep roofs to inspect storm damage. His first solo deployment took him to Hurricane Sandy’s aftermath in the Northeast, and from that point forward, he earned the trust of top insurers and independent firms for his reliability, technical precision, and unwavering attention to detail.

Specialized Fieldwork and Safety Leadership

Jay who is Rope & Harness–certified, and with the assistance of his wife, as a team, have never declined a difficult assignment. Together, they have executed thousands of rooftop and inaccessible-structure inspections—always adhering to the strictest safety protocols while meticulously documenting damage and measurements. This hands-on approach ensures no detail is overlooked and that every claim is supported by comprehensive, professional reporting.

Often with granted significant discretionary settlement authority, he consistently delivers accurate estimates and fair outcomes.

 Certified. Committed. Fearless

Driven by a passion for mastery, Jay Ospina invested in his own growth—earning elite industry credentials such as HAAG Commercial Roofing certification, IICRC accreditation for water, fire, and mold damage, and FEMA flood certification. Xactimate Level III. These qualifications have kept him in demand year after year, and after thousands of inspections he has witnessed firsthand the devastating toll nature can take on unprotected building materials—and the heartbreaking consequences that follow.

When Nature Strikes—And When It Could Have Been Prevented

Certain catastrophes—hurricanes, tornadoes, baseball-sized hail—can leave nothing standing. In those extreme cases, homeowners often have no recourse. Yet many other losses occur under conditions that today’s protective technologies could mitigate or even avert. All too frequently, insurers deny claims for water intrusion through shingles or flat roofs when no storm-created opening exists, leaving homeowners responsible for the full cost. And even when a claim is approved, escalating deductibles can consume the entire payout, exposing families to further financial strain

Why this Adjuster Stands Behind GoNano

Jay Ospina believes wholeheartedly in GoNano. Based on extensive testing data, his firsthand observations, and the knowledge he’s gained in the field, he can assert with confidence that GoNano would have benefited the vast majority of homeowners he’s encountered—those who endured hail, wind, and water intrusion, as well as the relentless wear and tear from sun exposure and temperature fluctuations.
